Welcome

Within East Reading there are three children’s centres offering a wide range of activities, advice and support to local families.

Our centres are called East Reading, Hamilton Road and Katesgrove, each of them providing a wealth of opportunities for the whole family with children aged 0-5, so pop along and find out what’s available in your area.

Welcome

Your Reading Children’s Centre Services are changing

We asked for your views on proposals for remodelling our Children’s Centre Services as increased budget pressures mean we need to look at delivering services differently.

There was general agreement from your responses that the reduced resources available to Children’s Centre Services should be directed at the most vulnerable families through offering a more targeted service.
Our family activity programmes, currently being offered across Reading, will see the biggest changes from 1 October:

  • The existing programme will be running for the remainder of the term
  • The summer programme will shortly be available for the school holidays
  • During September some term time activities will return until 30th September
  • From 1st October 2017 the new Reading Children’s Centre service will begin

For further information please ask your local Children’s Centre and keep checking the Family Information Service website for other community services and updates. www.reading.gov.uk/servicesguide
